“COMMUNE WITH THYSELF, O man! and consider wherefore thou wert made. Contemplate thy powers, contemplate thy wants and thy connections; so shalt thou discover the duties of life, and be directed in all thy ways. Proceed not to speak or to act, before thou hast weighed thy words, and examined the tendency of every step thou shalt take; so shall disgrace fly far from thee, and in thy house shall shame be a stranger; repentance shall not visit thee, nor sorrow dwell upon thy cheek in this or many lives to come.”1

As members of the human race, it is our duty and one of our purpose in life to commune with oneself or – to know thy self. The quotation above illustrates carefully some of the reasons why. Hence it is now, and before I continue this writing, brought back to your attention.

For many years, humanity has been looking for solutions to their daily and common problems. One of the reasons is because 1 Unto Thee I Grant The Economy Of Life, Book One, THE OBLIGATIONS THAT RELATE TO MAN, CONSIDERED AS AN

INDIVIDUAL, CHAPTER I., P.16

humanity has struggled with the definition of this simple word;

‘Freedom’. What does ‘Freedom’ really means? We have been so much influenced by our outside environment, that even sometimes within our own dear thoughts, we have not come to grasp this word yet in its true sense of meaning. My attempt here, therefore, is to present this word from another angle or perhaps even from another light. Considering that though our reality seems to appear without it is within. Freedom cannot be contemplated upon without addressing Truth, and Truth cannot be pondered upon without addressing Natural Laws. Therefore, Freedom has an indirect link with Natural Laws. Lo and behold, a Divine Paradox. Can one be bound by the Laws of Nature, while being free? Free will is not an illusion for us, as one may think. I will show you that free will is pretty much possible if you grant me a little of your patience. You see, lies give birth to chaos. Chaos as in disorder or not in harmony with the ALL (The Divine). If there is chaos in your life, it is because your thoughts are chaotic and therefore not in harmony with the ALL. In that same spirit, if the world is in chaos, then collectively, our thoughts are chaotic. To bring order or harmony, one needs true and objective freedom. Because freedom is the elixir, the healer, the medicine itself for our problems. What is meant with true and objective freedom is freedom understood from the “eyes”

of the ALL. It is not the “freedom” presented to us through political structures, religions or even money. In fact, it is these types of structures embedded in our societies that has formed our perception of freedom - subjectively. From a Rosicrucian standpoint, we have

always learned that our subjective faculties may not paint our reality completely the way it IS.

Which brings me to my second point - Truth. Truth is what IS.

Truth, objectively, never changes. It always WAS, always IS, and will always BE. We are continually pushed with the idea that we all have our own truth. Our own “truth” is actually most of the time our own opinion and is the perception of Truth interpreted by our subjective faculties. There is such thing as absolute Truth, which is Truth in its purest sense. This is Truth understood from the “eyes” of the ALL. Maybe a short example will convey the idea here; The Sun is there and illuminates our eyes daily with its rays of light with full supremacy, confidence, and valor. It “rises” in the morning giving us hope of the day, and “sets” in the evening. We understand now consciously, that our Earth orbits around the sun and on its own axis continuously which causes such phenomenon. Yesterday it did just that. At the time of writing it is doing just that and tomorrow I can assure you 100% that it will do the same. This all happens by Law and it is this that is meant when I say - Truth.

I would suggest that Truth is of dualistic nature. On one end it confirms a deterministic nature and on the other end, it shows a random nature. This is the Divine Paradox referred to previously in this writing.

I will not go too much deep into Truth here, since our subject is Freedom and how this relates with Divine Harmony. Maybe, and if the ALL grants me favor, I will take more time on my views into the matter in future writings.

The deterministic nature of Truth is my third and last point – Natural Laws. It is a wonder in itself to experience the Universe in

all its glory, but an even more glorious experience if we do so knowing – consciously, how the Laws of Nature work. I always explain Natural Laws as principles that govern the Universe and the consequences of our behavior. In other words, disharmony, disorder, or chaos is the karmic result of our behavior that sooner or later is given to us as an experience in this physical realm by Natural Laws, being that individually as well as collectively. We experience all of this today because of one simple misunderstood word – ‘Freedom’.

The random nature of Truth is governed by our free will. This part of Truth is the simplest part of all to understand, because we all take an active part of it daily whether we want it or not. Every day you make choices – consciously or unconsciously. Those choices once made, cannot be undone. It becomes certain, it becomes Truth. You cannot say tomorrow, that you didn’t read this article, this far today.

As it is so eloquently recorded in history:

“This instant is thine; the next is in the womb of futurity, and thou knowest not what it may bring forth; maturity of the unborn is in the keeping of the Law. Each future state is that thou has created in the present. Whatsoever thou resolvest to do, do it quickly. Defer not till the evening what the morning may accomplish.”2

Unfortunately, many of us, when we think nowadays about free will, we connect it with chaos. “We cannot be too free otherwise it will result in chaos” – You might say. Yet, we see chaos reign with power 2 Unto Thee I Grant The Economy Of Life, Book One, THE OBLIGATIONS THAT RELATE TO MAN, CONSIDERED AS AN

INDIVIDUAL, CHAPTER III., P.18

today with all those human-made restrictions. It is this connection, between free will and chaos, I would suggest to all members and non-members, to disassociate. Have we today the courage and strength to disassociate this fearful thought, that brought us to the point where we are now? Free will, in the “eyes” of the ALL is, and should be Freedom in its highest form - which is without human restrictions. It is free will, governed only by Natural Laws. It is through these Laws of Nature that we truly will get an equal chance in life. Please, do not misunderstand, there is no advocacy of living without rules here, but only of a free life governed by the Laws of the ALL. Obviously, this brings up the matter of (degrees of) responsibility to each and every one of us. I would love to address this as well in future writings – and I might too. However, the Rosicrucian temple grades are filled with lessons and guidance to better oneself and to become a better you. In our journey as the human species, it becomes one of our virtues to convey to ourselves and to the world the importance of this Divine Truth. This Divine Truth is, once more, that objective freedom is one of the most important divine elixir of harmonizing with ourselves, Nature and the ALL. After all, being moral and responsible because you are, especially because nobody forced you to be as such, is one of the most beautiful accomplishments that can be achieved as a human being.

For the world you might be just an individual, but for me, as one individual, you are the world. We are One and the same. - Written with Love. Peace Profound. -
